assignment of benefits (“direct billing”) policy

Simpli Dental is currently providing assignment of benefits “direct billing” at select clinic locations. In an effort to make this process as simple for everyone involved, we have included our policy as follows:

  • Patients must have a credit card on file. The card will be charged remaining balance after funds from the insurance company are received. If the card declines, payment is due within 30 days via e-transfer, credit card, debit card, or cheque.
  • For procedures that are directly billed, the fee for service will match that found in the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan’s current suggested fee guide, rather than our discounted rate. This is due to the added administrative expense associated with providing this service.
  • We will require a preauthorization for any major dental work. This is not a guarantee of payment from your insurance provider as the patient could have other procedures done that would reduce the eligible reimbursement. Please note this can cause a delay in treatment as this takes time to coordinate with the insurance company.
  • Patients will be provided with a dental claim form assigning the benefit to Simpli Dental following each appointment. Failure to sign this form will result in a charge on the credit card on file.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can assist with the process.

patient instructions (whitening, surgery post-op, denture care, etc.)

whitening

Poladay SDI Whitening System (9.5% Hydrogen Peroxide) (1.3g syringes)

General Whitening Info:

Teeth are naturally dark along the gum line. These areas may require more time to lighten than the rest of the tooth surface and may remain slightly darker. Also, fillings and crowns will not change colour with whitening products.

Do not exceed 45 minutes per wear (may vary with different concentrations of active ingredients), as this may cause sensitivity. If you are prone to sensitivity, start brushing with a sensitivity toothpaste 2 weeks before starting your whitening treatment.

Instructions:

  1. Brush teeth with sensitivity toothpaste.
  2. Place a small drop of whitening gel into every compartment of the tray for the teeth undergoing treatment (each syringe should last about 5 days)
  3. Seat the tray, with the gel around the teeth.
  4. Wipe away excess gel in the mouth with a tissue or dry soft brush.
  5. After treatment, remove the whitening tray. Rinse the whitening tray with cold water and rinse your mouth with lukewarm water.
  6. Brush teeth.

For Best Results:

  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while whitening trays are in your mouth
  • Do not smoke immediately after treatment, wait at least 2 hours
  • Foods and drinks containing strong colour (turmeric, red wine, coffee, tea, etc) should be avoided for at least 48 hours after the treatment is complete
  • Keep gel at room temperature, store in a cool, dark area.

surgery post-op

Post Operative Instructions Following Dental Surgery

  1. Bite on gauze for approximately 30 minutes. If bleeding persists, bite down on a wet tea bag. There is tannic acid in the tea that will help the area clot.
  2. DO NOT smoke, drink alcohol, spit, eat/drink anything hot, drink through a straw or do any vigorous activities for 3 – 4 days following surgery.
  3. Starting the day after your surgery, GENTLY rinse your mouth 3 – 4 times a day with a warm saltwater solution (1⁄2 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water).
  4. It is normal for your saliva to be streaked with blood for the day but if there is abnormal oozing, please call our office.
  5. If you are having some discomfort, take what you would normally take for a headache. If necessary, the doctor will prescribe something stronger for you.
  6. If the extraction was complicated and there is bruising or swelling, place an ice pack on the area, 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, for about 4 – 6 hours following surgery,
  7. If you required non-absorbable sutures, an appointment must be made for a week to 2 weeks later to remove them.
  8. Keep fingers and tongue away from the operated area.
  9. Try to eat softer foods for 2 – 3 days after surgery.
  10. Please email reception@simpli.dental, text or call our office if you have any questions.

denture care

Below are instructions on how to best care for your dentures (full or partial).

  1. Clean your dentures daily. Use a denture brush and denture cleaner or a mild soap. Do not use anything abrasive such as toothpaste. You can also soak them overnight.
  2. Remove your dentures and leave them out overnight. Clean your gums with a soft toothbrush before going to sleep.
  3. Avoid dropping your denture as it can break.

If you had teeth extracted at the time you received your denture.

  1. Leave your dentures in for 24 hours. Do not remove as swelling can prevent the denture from being reinserted and fitting properly. If in pain, take the appropriate dosage of pain medication, removing your denture will not provide relief from extractions.
  2. After 24 hours, remove the dentures and clean them. Reinsert and wear for another 24 hours.
  3. Wear your dentures as much as possible after the first 48 hours, taking them out only overnight.

Notes:

Simpli Dental will provide you with three complementary adjustments following the delivery of your denture. Subsequent adjustments will be subject to a professional fee.

If you received an immediate denture that was made by us, a soft-tissue reline is included following initial healing.

Some immediate dentures will require a hard reline when healing (soft tissue and bone) is complete. There is an additional charge for this procedure.

how to check-in when arriving at the office

At Simpli Dental we find ways to save operating costs, and in turn, pass those savings on to you by offering dental services at a reduced price. One way we do this is by having our administration team operate multiple clinics off-site. When you arrive at our office there will not be a receptionist to greet you, please check in on the iPad at the front door. A dental assistant will be notified you’ve arrived and call you back when they are ready for you.

cancellation policy

Please note that we require 24 hours notice (within business hours) if you would like to reschedule or cancel an appointment.  This is because these time slots are valuable as other patients that may be in pain could use them. We may apply a $75.00 fee to your account that will need to be paid prior to booking your next appointment if we are not provided with sufficient notice.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in allowing us to keep our prices as low as possible for all patients!

options of ways to schedule an appointment (online, call, text, email)

If you are a new or existing patient, exams and hygiene appointments can be scheduled online on our website. Click book online in the top right corner to get started!
